　C型ライノウイルス感染ではA型やB型ライノウイルスに比べて下気道炎症状や肺炎の合併が多く，喘息・COPD増悪の頻度が多い1–3)．コクサッキーウイルス，メタニューモウイルス，ヘルペスウイルス，Epstein–Barrウイルス (Epstein-Barr virus: EBV) の報告もある．
